I’ve been playing The Sims 3 on my laptop since ’09. That’s a very long time to forget how great it is to play The Sims 3 with a mouse.
It’s the little things you miss like how the mouse tracks off screen and the camera goes with it and you’re off in no-man’s land wondering how your sim ended up ALL THE WAY OVER THERE?!?
After I got used to the fact that Mad Catz’s Sims 3 Illuminated Mouse for PC acted like a real mouse, i.e., not like my laptop’s trackpad, I was good to go.
Except, while the mouse did transition from green, to orange, to a awesome shade of red, it didn’t change with my sim’s mood. I thought it was just me being all enamored with the pretty colors until I cheated one of my sims into a major bathroom issue and, while my sim was bright red, the mouse was still going through its pretty colors.
Then I read the instructions. Yeah. Don’t forget to download the drivers…like the instructions tell you.
Once I had the drivers installed, I was a happy camper.
Pretty colors. Very bright colors. Colors that change when you piss your sim off or make them very happy. Cheating or not. Sims don’t seem to mind.
I plugged the dude up to my laptop and had no lag issues. In fact, if preformed better than my laptop’s flat imposter of a mouse. It was a bit big in the hand–that’s what she said–but I have small hands–that’s what she said–and once I got used to the size–that’s what she said–I loved the mouse.
Bottom line: would I have bought this myself?
BUT, you don’t have to buy it because I’m giving three away!
I’ll announce the winners in a follow-up post on Wednesday the 11th. Good luck! And may the odds be ever in your favor.
Oh! SimPrograms is also giving away 3 of these babies. His contest ends on the 6th. Enter. Maybe win? Fun times shall be had by at least six.
