Tons of Info From E3 About Sims 3 on Consoles

in Sims 3 Console and Handheld, Sims Videos

A rather kickass video and announcement has come out of E3 today.

The video and the announcement both center around The Sims 3 on consoles.

First off, here’s the E3 The Sims 3 console trailer that hit today. The title says “gameplay” on the YouTube video and the video is from EA. However, the gameplay looks awfully good for a console game. Maybe that’s just me being jaded – you tell me.

*Edited to add: After reading this IGN console “first look” on The Sims 3 console version and seeing the images, I’m gonna say the video is legit…with cheats.

But, the video is pretty damn cool so I find myself not really caring if it’s CGI or if it’s actual in-game footage.

The second thing that was announced today was the fact The Sims is coming to the Nintendo 3Ds in 2011 which is cool news if you’re getting one and can’t seem to satiate your Sims fix.

Here’s the press release in case you care:

  • According to NPD data, Chart-track UK, Gfk France, Gfk Spain, Gfk-MCC Germany and EA internal estimate.

AND, here are two image assets that were released along with the press release. One of the file names is sims3_e3_cas_face_2.jpg so there’s no clue as to what console it’s supposed to be from but based on the size – less that 500px wide – I’m going to assume DS…they look like DS screens.
