So I might have gotten Ambitions today but I haven’t played the game for more than five minutes today.
Yeah. That’s right. Five minutes.
The first issue was the eye of my DVD ROM going out so I had to run to Target and get a USB DVD ROM. Like a champ, external drive recognized the game disc and started installing the game.
Everything was good to go until I got to the load screen…and stayed there.
This is what I did to fix the stalled load screen in Sims 3 Ambitions. Hope it works for you guys.

why does my sims 3 turns into a grey screen after the intro? there's only a picture of sunset valley...but the music is still playing...but before that a white-ish line appear at the bottom of the screen...please let me know how i can fix this please------------- T_T

Thank you! It turns out it was none of my clothing or hair, but Turnable Core Engine mods...i just removed those and it started up right away even with my old clothing, hair, and accessory files!
Thank you so much. I have an equally massive mods folder because I went on an installing spree of CC one day not realizing that some of it could be compatible. I got rid of the ones that didn't matter and the game moves super fast! Thanks again!
Girl. YOU ROCK! I was having a really crappy week and my husband bought me this game to make me feel better and I couldn't get it to load. So I did a search and this was the first thing I found and it WORKED. I really love you right now lol!! You are awesome!!!
LIFE SAVER YOU ARE! Got ambitions today load screen wouldn't even come up. I'd get the opening video and it'd close. Now i'm sitting here going "WHY didn't I think of that?!" lol Thank you!
Thank you very much for this. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled the game and it didn't work then I realised that the uninstaller never asked if I wanted to get rid of the CC for WA, only for the base game. Once I removed the mods folder from WA it worked fine.
