Sims Points Contest: What’s Good About The Sims 3?

in Sims 3 Contest

One of the things I’ve noticed about the release of The Sims 3 is a ton of negativity. I’ve been guilty of it myself and some of it is inevitable. How can you not compare the two games – especially when The Sims 2 was/is so ridiculously popular?

To help focus on the positive, I’m holding a contest. Wanna enter? Read on.

As you know, I’m a fan of custom content and EA puts out some very nice stuff. Sometimes though, it’s difficult to justify spending $10 or $20 when you have other stuff you want to buy.

Solution?

Enter this contest to win two $10 The Sims Cash Cards which gets you 2000 Sims Points! [The cards can be used for Sims 2 as well as Sims 3.]

Here’s what you do to enter:

  • To be entered, you MUST LEAVE A COMMENT. Leave a comment with what you like best about The Sims 3. The comment can be about the base game, World Adventures or High-End Loft. If you want to be an uber overachiever and you have all three games, you can list what you like from each of them – you won’t get extra entries or anything…just a virtual pat on the back.

For extra entries, you can do this stuff:

  • Follow @SimsGamer on Twitter. When you comment, make sure you add your Twitter name to the bottom of your comment when you say you followed SimsGamer.
  • Subscribe to Sims 3 Gamer’s feed. Let me know in the comments section below that you did that. Subscribing to Sims 3 Gamer’s feed is great way to stay up-to-date with what’s going on with the site. You can add the feed to your feed reader – if you use one – or you can have it sent to your email.
  • Tweet this:
I just entered the @SimsGamer What's Good About Sims 3 contest and you can too. Win 2000 Sim Points! http://ow.ly/1DaBm

or something similar telling people you entered the contest. Leave a comment below with a link to the actual tweet. You do this by clicking on the time stamp and then copying the URL of that page into your comment. You can also retweet this post with the button at the top of all of this. Retweet it as much as you want but you only get one extra entry for that initial tweet. So, to be 100% clear, 100 tweets will only give you one extra entry.

  • Share this post on Facebook and leave a link to it in the comments. If you share limited information on your Facebook page, grab a screenshot and then upload it to Flickr or some other image hosting site and then put a link to that picture in the comments.
  • If you’re really feeling adventurous, you can link to this post on your blog or in a Sims related forum – 2 extra entries for that. Leave a comment with the link and if it’s a private forum or protected site, grab a screenshot and then upload it to Flickr or some other image hosting site and then put a link to that picture in the comments.

You don’t have do a million comments. Just one big ole comment with what you like best about The Sims 3 and then the other “extra credit” stuff is perfectly fine.

Rules and stuff:

You can get a grand total of seven entries: initial required comment with what you like best about The Sims 3 [1 entry], following SimsGamer [1 entry], subscribe to Sims 3 Gamer’s feed [1 entry], tweet about the contest [1 entry], share on Facebook [1 entry] and link to the contest on either your own website/blog or on a forum [2 entries].

The contest will run from today [April 26th, 2010] until May 28th, 2010 10 AM CDT. Once my clock hits 10am on May 28th, I’ll shut off comments.

A winner will be chosen via Random.org and the list of entrants and winner will be available at Random.org’s records page for up to five years. Email address will not be displayed publicly – only the entrant’s name. I’ll post the winner’s name by Monday May 31st, 2008 by editing this post and adding the winner’s name to the top.

The winner will be contacted via the email address they provided. Again, your email address will never be published publicly and you should not include your email address in the body of your comment.

The winner will be given seven days from the date I email them to get back with me. On the eighth day, I’ll contact the #2 person. The actual codes from the cards will be emailed to the winner so this contest is open to everyone.

I think that’s it. I hope that’s it cause this has gotten WAY longer than I had planned.

Get to commenting and tweeting and stuff and good luck to everyone!

The best about The Sims 3 is that it’s really a game for everyone. There’s so many different things you can do with the game, and the one thing they have in common is that they unleash the amazing creativity that the players possess. We all need to use our own creativity sometimes, and a good way to do that, is to plat The Sims 3…

I love The Sims franchise because it allows you to create/build or be anything you want to be. Your dreams can be your Sims dreams. I like the fact that you can share what you do with so many other fans too. It is also the perfect gift. I have gifted various Sims games to all my neices/nephews and friends. We all talk about what we have created and share ideas. It teaches children about life, going to work, cooking, social skills and so much more. It is a game that can be used by anyone. With the expansions and addons, the Sims store and Custom stuff, the game is always fresh and never boring. That is why I loved Sims 1, 2 and 3!

I love the tombs in World Adventures. It was already great fun playing with genetics and working towards achievements, but the puzzles in the tombs made Sims 3 ridiculously addictive

My favourite part about The Sims 3 is simply how fresh and fun the actual playing feels like again. I love CAS and how easy creating custom content and modifying the game to my personal liking has already become thanks to the simming community, the lack of which at first put me off the game, but now purely playing-wise, has made me love the Sims3.

The Sims 3 is sweet, sassy, and there are so many endless possibilities. My favorite part of the Sims 3 is how you get to assign unique traits to make your Sim the way they are and act. I love the open ended world and no longer having to wait for those aggravating loading screens to finish loading. It’s so amazing how there will always be something new in the game and you never have to find yourself bored. I could go play this game for hours! Lol. The Sims 3 World adventures is so much fun! The aspect of exploring tombs and traveling makes the game so mesmerizing and very interesting. The new skills and traits were a great edition to the Sims 3 and I love how we have the ability to build our own tombs. How neat is that?! Talk about awesome. And lastly, I was blown away by the High-End Stuff pack. Sure, most people found it tad bit boring, but not me. I just love the Sims 3 and I want to thank EA for all the hard work they put into this game.

hey just bungled onto this from a post. I am one those uberdrones who sunk mucho dinero into every single title from sims 1, 2, 3 and lifestories. The part I love best of the 3 series is that it frees me from the stress of the daily grind. Kids, Work, Crazy Relatives, all melt away ( or get stuck in a pool with no ladder.) j/k . I also love to send my simmies randomly collecting things, specially the ones that hate the outdoors, its funny watching them Eeek when you surround them in bug containers!

    Oh, yay! This seems fun.
To get the virtual pat on the back, what I like best about the Sims 3 is the design tool (or whatever it’s called)

  • Jade

S3= Definetly the CAP, you can create any style you want and that makes it easier when you are decorating a lot
WA= Travelling is the best in WA, it may cost a lot but its worth it to see the beauty of the places
HELS= The 10th anniversery items. I like how they brought items from the Sims and the Sims 2 into the game

I like the Sims3 because it is a way you can express your creativity. You can make sims with all different types of features. You make how many different types of sims and all of them will be different. You can now design your home the way you like it. You can build your dream homes, and your not soo dream homes. Sims3 is like a fantasy world that you always dreamed for. Rather you be a hobo or a surgeon. There are so many different possibilites. Sims3 actually calms me down, from a hard day at school. I like the sims3 because I can just be me, and complete tasks which i always wanted to complete.

What I like best about The Sims 3 is how much more open it is than Sims 2. There are SO many things to do and having played the game on and off for months, I still have never done them all.
I’m also a big fan of the design tool, finally having the ability to make different pieces of furniture work together instead of needing a certain set to really bring a room together.
